Dr. Nadera Alborno is an Associate Professor of Education at the American University in Dubai. Her current research interest includes culturally competent teacher education with a focus on the development of inclusive education in the UAE. She is also active in the empowerment of people with disabilities through education and employment from a human agency perspective. In addition, Dr. Alborno works with local communities to spread awareness regarding the rights of people with disabilities and advises organizations regarding inclusive policies and practices. She regularly participates in local and international research conferences and has published articles, case studies and book chapters addressing teacher education, inclusive employment, and the development of inclusive communities in the UAE and the GCC context.
